Green-tech protect 65,000 trees in Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

A new 50ha native woodland finds itself in the heart of the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The Summerstone Estate is within 1,400 acres of the Nidderdale Valley in the Yorkshire Dales. This Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is one of just 46 in the UK. Between them they cover 18% of the UK’s finest countryside considered special places, worthy of protection.

As well as recognition for its beauty, the Summerstone Estate is ideal for sporting enthusiasts. The surrounding countryside is a quality grouse and pheasant shooting site.

The estates owners advocate sustainable land management. They had a desire to create a green framework to enhance their local landscape, biodiversity and sporting interest. Major inward investment to the local rural economy has made this is possible.

They approached Tilhill Forestry, the UK forestry company to plant more than 65,000 trees and shrubs on the estate.

Tilhill Forestry have a long-standing relationship with leading landscape supplier Green-tech. They turned to them to supply 65,000 Tubex 1.2m tree shelters, Tubex 60cm Shrub shelters and stakes.

Green-tech is the largest supplier of Tubex and have over 2 million tree shelters in stock at any one time for customers. They offer a next-day delivery service.

Commenting on the project, Simon Marrington, Tilhill Forestry’s business and senior forest manager said:

“As usual Green-tech were great. They supplied everything as specified, on time and to the correct location at the agreed rate. Everything was just to the high standard we expect and our customer is very happy.”
