    Cobra expands 40v lithium-ion range

The ever-expanding Cobra range is set to further increase its product offering. Last year the gardening range launched lithium-ion products with the introduction of two 40 volt lawnmowers. To further this, four new 40 volt products have been introduced.

The first addition is to the lawnmower collection with a dedicated 16” rear roller. The RM4140V creates a traditional striped lawn but without the need for petrol or electric cables. It is hand propelled and has seven cutting heights, including a low of just 20mm. The 4Ah battery charges in 90 minutes to give up to 30 minutes of mowing time. All for just £359.99

The new products see Cobra branching out into the handheld tools sector too with the introduction of a grass trimmer, chainsaw and hedge trimmer – all powered by the same 40 volt battery as the lawnmowers as it is transferable across the range.

The GT3240VZ grass trimmer, with a 1.6mm twisted cutting line, can run for up to 80 minutes from a 90 minute charge. Its weights just 2.9kg, including the battery, so makes light work of all gardening tasks. It has a rotating cutting head to manoeuvre edges, a telescopic shaft to adjust to different operator’s height and a variable cutting width between 28 to 32cm.

The CS3540VZ chainsaw features a 14” Oregon bar and chain, and boasts a 9.0m/s chain speed. It has a quick chain tensioner that eliminates the need for additional tools, as well as ergonomic controls to enhance user comfort.

The final new 40 volt product is the H5540VZ hedge trimmer. It has a 55cm double-sided blade with 28mm tooth spacing. It will run for 85 minutes for a 90 minute charge.

Managing director, Peter Chaloner, commented: “The two lithium-ion mowers that we launched last year proved incredibly popular and we soon learnt that customers were wanting more lithium-ion products. At 40 volts they offer an economic solution whilst still offering enough power to get the job done.”
