      Paxman Landscapes bags third Show Gold for landscaping and design excellence

      Yorkshire-based landscape contractor Paxman Landscapes has scooped three golds in a row, as it once again took home the golden accolade for its family-themed garden at this year’s Harrogate Spring Flower Show. As a family-run company itself, the theme grew from an obvious partnership choice of the Association of Professional Landscapers, representing accredited landscapers across the UK.       Paxman Landscapes planting for wildlife at University of York

        Paxman Landscapes are on site this September at the University of York Environment building, creating wildlife-friendly havens around the campus.  Working with client Morgan Sindall, the team are responsible for the soft landscaping elements around the building and environs, adding wildflower turf and pre-seeded matting.  The newly-landscaped sections will be complete by the end of the month and will start to thrive and flourish in spring 2016. The Environment Building, the University’s £12 million investment project, is due for completion this year and will house purpose-built teaching, office and laboratory facilities.       Paxman produces through apprenticeship programme

      Following his horticulture apprenticeship at Askham Bryan college, James Dickenson has successfully passed his Level 2 in Amenity Horticulture. James has been involved with multiple projects throughout his on-the-job training with Paxman Landscapes. “I’ve already seen the benefits to my life as a young adult.”James places great importance on his new qualifications and team-working skills.  He chose a landscaping career “to work outdoors” and “enjoys using and understanding how machinery works.”  He is keen to apply his experience and skills in a career at Paxmans.       Paxman Landscapes sponsored kit donated to grass roots football in Malawi

      As kit sponsors for Newsome Panthers JARLFC, Huddersfield-based landscaping contractor Paxman Landscapes have their name and logo adorning shirts which have now travelled all the way to Africa.  Last season’s shirts have been donated to CART,  a charity who recycle unwanted clothing to raise funds or send directly to Africa.  These are now enjoying their second life as football shirts for a handful of teams in villages in Malawi.   The shirts were presented to local priests and sport masters from the Nkope boys and girls teams, Mtonda Primary School and Sauya Parish teams.

      Yorkshire-based Paxman Landscapes gains golden accolade for stunning roof garden

      APL WorldSkills semi-finalists announced

      Landscapers of the future demonstrated their skills over the past three months at regional heats hosted by CAFRE, Gardening Scotland, Myerscough College, Reaseheath College and Pershore College for the WorldSkills UK Landscape Gardening competition. Horticultural students and apprentices from across the nation took part in the knock-out heats which were run by the Association of Professional Landscapers (APL).       Frogheath Landscapes has been crowned Supreme Winner at the APL Awards, sponsored by Bradstone, which took place at The Brewery in London on 4 March 2016.       The APL and two APL members have received a Gold medal for their garden at the Harrogate Autumn Flower Show. Jody Lidgard of Bespoke Outdoor Spaces, and Justin Paxman of Paxman Landscapes UK Ltd offered the support of some of their apprentices and young workers, Jacob, Josh from Bespoke Outdoor Spaces, and, Toby and Jack from Paxman Landscapes UK Ltd.
