Living wall designed by Daniel Bell helps Stockholm nightclub improve acoustics

A trendy outdoor nightclub in Stockholm unveiled its new look at its summer opening party on 4 May, 2018, designed by Daniel Bell Landskap to improve both audio and visual ambiance.

As the surrounding neighbourhood develops, Trädgården needed to reduce ambient noise. They turned to Daniel Bell Landskap for its expertise in living walls, which have been proven to act as sound barriers that absorb up to 40% of sound.

Tucked under a major highway, the living wall covers the concrete highway pillars and the original farmhouse that now overlooks the property. As part of the project, Trädgården is also installing a new innovative sound system in addition to numerous other enhancements to the property.

“We are super excited about this upcoming season,” says Trädgarden representative Emma Weinerhall. “As Stockholm undergoes massive development, we have faced the positive challenge of being a member of our growing community while maintaining our customers’ clubbing experience. Fully supporting the urban development around us, we are transforming from a club to a destination under the bridge in Skanstull.”

Covering approximately 55 square meters, the living wall will create a more lush and inviting environment on the property which is now also open during the day, with family-friendly events, games and food stands.
