Spring is in the air for show garden

A garden company has drafted in the help of experts in their preparations for the Harrogate Spring Flower Show.

The Colour Your Garden nursery, between Thirsk and Ripon, is entering a show garden designed by award-winning designer Alistair Baldwin.

Entitled ‘A Spring Tapestry’ it celebrates the colours and textures of the season and includes unique pieces commissioned from Whitby-based sculptor Emma Stothard and Harrogate-based artisans Kendrews Architectural Metalwork.

The plants, which are provided by the Colour Your Garden plant nursery, will then be used for a trade show at the Chelsea Flower Show in May alongside sculptor Emma Stothard. Colour Your Garden designer and director Alistair Baldwin is excited about the show.

He said: “We’re delighted to be taking part in the Spring Flower Show this year, it’s such a great event for local and regional businesses and is just the tonic for the gardening enthusiasts of Yorkshire as Spring finally gets going.”

The show garden will exhibit at the popular event in Harrogate from April 20 to 23.
