30 years at RHS Chelsea Flower Show for Mark Gregory

The excitement and buzz of RHS Chelsea is extra special this year for Landform Consultants founder and managing director, Mark Gregory, as he celebrates a landmark 30 years at the show.

Returning as a designer at RHS Chelsea Flower Show for the first time in eight years, after last winning a gold medal for his Children’s Society garden in 2010, he’s going back to his roots for his heartfelt ‘Welcome to Yorkshire’ garden.

Mark, who grew up in East Yorkshire, is delighted to be showing the world a slice of the place he proudly calls home for his milestone year.

He said: “2018 marks 30 years designing and building show gardens at the greatest flower show on earth. This is a significant moment for me so what better way to celebrate than by designing a garden for the place that shaped me as a person.

“I think most people who know me, know how proud I am of my roots, so creating the Welcome to Yorkshire Garden is an incredible honour. I feel humbled to be designing this garden and hope I am able to do justice to the beauty of Yorkshire’s landscape. This show has a very special place in my heart so bringing the two together is a match made in heaven.”

His evocative and aromatic garden will capture the sights, smells and tastes of the world-renowned Yorkshire Dales. It will have its own woodland area, lush pastures, a cultivated cottage-style garden around the bothy and a tumbling beck with dramatic fast flowing water.

Mark Gregory has spent almost four years of his life building show gardens at Chelsea, is going for his fifth gold medal. That’s on top of Landform Consultants’ 20 gold medals at Chelsea Flower Show and numerous industry awards for projects in London and the South East.

His dynamic approach, energy and experience have given him a reputation for innovation and technical expertise within the landscaping community. He was recently voted Most Influential by his peers in the Pro Landscaper Business Awards, who hailed him a great leader who inspires the next generation as well as his peers.

As well as heading-up Landform Mark Gregory is incredibly active in the Landscaping and Horticultural industries. He lectures all over the world delivering workshops and seminars for the Society of Garden Designers, BALI and APL and is regularly consulted by other designers and contractors. Mark has been a past board member of the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) and is former director of the HTA and former chairman of the APL. Mark is a regular RHS Judge and Assessor, and a former member of the Chelsea Gardens Panel.
