New public realm for Littlehampton’s flood risk management scheme

Works to enhance the public realm along the new Arun East Bank flood defence scheme in Littlehampton, West Sussex, are now complete and open to the public. Independent design, environment and sustainability consultancy, LDA Design, was appointed as landscape architect to transform 2.5km of waterfront alongside the River Arun as part of a joint project with the Environment Agency (EA) and Arun District Council. The works, which form part of the EA’s £22 million scheme of flood defence works to the East Bank of the River Arun, comprise of urban waterfront public realm as well as suburban and rural landscapes….

The Landscape Group wins grounds maintenance contract with the Francis Crick Institute

  The Landscape Group (TLG) has been awarded a new three year grounds maintenance contract with the Francis Crick Institute, which is currently under construction in London (next to St. Pancras Station). Green Flag award for Wisbech

Wisbech is celebrating after receiving a prestigious green flag award for the eighth year running. St Peter’s Church Gardens and Wisbech Park have been judged to be two of the UK’s best open spaces. They will again be entitled to fly the Green Flag, awarded by the environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy under licence from the Department of Communities and Local Government.   Green services company Glendale has appointed Keith Hepplewhite as director of health and safety and compliance. In a new role for the national provider, Keith will ensure the company meets legislative requirements, while overseeing the welfare of employees at Glendale’s bases across the UK.   Quadron Services is now responsible for maintaining 69 Green Flag sites across its client portfolio, including five new wins for 2015. Glendale helps reinstate Torquay seafront

  Green space management company, Glendale, has completed a landscape reinstatement project on the iconic Torquay seafront. The work was undertaken on behalf of South West Water’s Delivery Alliance H50 who recently completed a flood alleviation project in Abbey Park, Torquay. A team of two from Glendale, Ben Farlam and TomasGergal, laid 4,000m2 of turf returning the park to its usual high standard. A mile further up the road four staff undertook further reinstatement works in a private garden. Seven 12m high semi-mature Poplars were planted to act as a screen. Glendale gives community space a special makeover

  A team from specialist green services company Glendale has breathed new life into a community space, as part of celebrations marking the company’s 25th anniversary. The Community 25 initiative saw tenants from one of Glendale’s housing clients, the Sutton Housing Partnership, invited to nominate a deserving resident to receive a free garden makeover to the value of £1,500. OCS renew maintenance contract with Chepstow Community Hospital

  The Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, and SPV company Kintra, have confirmed that OCS will continue to provide a total facilities management (TFM) service to Chepstow Community Hospital until 2020. OCS, which provides maintenance and engineering services, patient and retail catering, domestic cleaning, housekeeping, reception and switchboard, portering, laundry and grounds and waste management, has provided all FM services to the hospital since it opened in 2000.
