Andy Sturgeon designs giant egg for charity

Following Andy Sturgeon’s successful contribution to last year’s record breaking The Big Egg Hunt, the leading garden and landscape designer has been invited to create another unique egg design for the charity event. Last year, eggs designed by leading lights in the art and fashion worlds, including Sir Peter Blake, Zaha Hadid, Marc Quinn and Vivienne Westwood raised over £1million in a charity auction. Andy’s egg was one of the highest bidding designs, selling for £10,500. Horticulture is Cool – 150 higher level (NVQ3+) students attended a busy workshop at Hadlow College yesterday (Wednesday 30 January) organised by Palmstead Nurseries. They came from a number of colleges across the South East: Hadlow in Kent, Writtle in Essex, Merrist Wood in Surrey, Oxford College of Garden Design and trainees from the Historic and Botanic Garden Bursary Scheme & National Trust.
