Landform announces Garden Bar for Hampton Court

Landform is delighted to announce that designer, Rhiannon Williams has been selected to build The Landform Garden Bar at this year’s RHS Hampton Court Flower Show.

Rhiannon, who was awarded a Silver-Gilt and People’s Choice for her Urban Rain Garden at last year’s show, designed this garden with a couple in mind, offering a refreshing take on outdoor entertaining and dining. It embraces a contemporary summer al fresco lifestyle and brings the inside out, using the garden as an extension of the home.

The space offers a serene oasis in the middle of the hustle and bustle of urban living – a calming place to reflect and take time out from busy lifestyles.

Inspiration has been drawn from the gardens of Hotel Alma in Barcelona and the design includes a bar/food preparation area and a less formal seating area beside a fire pit. Soft planting surrounds the seating area creating a cosy feel with tones that are chosen to be soft and delicate with added pops of dynamic colour.

The Landform Garden Bar has a deep personal significance, as it was designed in collaboration with her late partner and Landform Consultants foreman, Matthew Bradley who tragically lost his life in November 2017. Rhiannon submitted the application on the day Matthew died and is keen to see the garden realised as both a tribute to him and their life together, but also as a project that was very much a joint effort.

Landscape architect and project manager for Landform Consultants, Rhiannon said: “This garden is designed to be a rich source of take home ideas so that people can be inspired to enjoy whatever space they have to the full. I’ve always been keen to design spaces that are not only beautiful but functional and I hope this garden ticks both those boxes.”

At the show last year, Rhiannon’s design, The Urban Rain Garden, showcased a more sustainable approach when it comes to rain water management. She first joined Landform during her placement year at University of Sheffield and has since graduated with a BSc MLA Landscape Architecture and Ecology, returning to Landform Consultants full-time.

Mark Gregory, CEO of Landform Consultants, said: “Rhiannon has worked extremely hard and we’re very proud that her design has been selected for this year’s Hampton Court show. We’re excited to be supporting her on the Landform Garden Bar especially as it has a special significance to the company after the loss of Matthew. We are looking forward to realising their joint vision.”
