‘Here Comes the Sun’: Liverpool ONE steps out in style this summer with LazyLawn®

One of Europe’s leading retail and leisure destinations, Liverpool ONE has been transformed with artificial grass by leading brand LazyLawn®.

The centre’s iconic Sugar House steps, which lead down to the city’s Clayton Square and up to Chavasse Park, were remodelled recently in the style of an amphitheatre and as part of a £3 million refurbishment. The steps have now been covered in 700 square metres of top quality LazyLawn® artificial grass.

Liverpool’s shoppers and city workers can now relax on their lunch break or during the day on the towering green staircase, which is as durable to the constant wear and tear as it is soft to the touch. Visitors can also enjoy sitting on the steps as they ‘come together’ during events such as The Mersey River Festival and Revo conference and exhibition this summer.

Donna Howitt, marketing director at Liverpool ONE said: “We are extremely impressed with LazyLawn®, which will be a public feature over the summer period until the end of September.

“The feedback from people visiting Liverpool has been really positive. Many have commented how nice it is to sit on while they are having a break from work or shopping.

“The steps look even more eye-catching and will certainly attract people to visit the area during the summer. We’re proud to offer visitors at Liverpool ONE enjoyable and interesting experiences such as this, in addition to great places to shop and eat.”

LazyLawn®’s Peter Footitt said: “There is a growing national interest in artificial grass both in the domestic setting and in public areas and we are thrilled to lead the way with iconic installations like this one.”

In fact LazyLawn® is no stranger projects that cover the UK’s landmarks with turf. LazyLawn® has been spotted at The Shard, Chelsea Flower Show, Kings Cross station, in the Big Brother garden has well as in the home of countless celebrities, including most recently X Factor winner Sam Bailey.

Peter added: “Steps are often a hard landscaping feature that we are asked to cover with grass as it has the ability to completely transform the look and feel of a public space, making it more accessible and customer friendly. LazyLawn® also adds a splash of green for summer fun in public areas.”

Currently LazyLawn® is also available to enjoy by passers-by on the steps overlooking Regent’s Canal at London’s Granary Square.

LazyLawn® is the leading supplier of artificial grass in the UK. The popular LazyLawn® Wonder Yarn range won the Which? Best Buy Award on the artificial grass comparison table in 2016.

LazyLawn® is owned by Evergreens UK, the leading supplier and installer of artificial grass in the UK.
