Which?, the largest consumer body in the UK, has found the EGO Power+ 56volt lithium ion lawnmower to be a Which? Best Buy in a recent review.
The EGO LM2001E 49cm polydeck lawnmower, which retails at £499.99 (including battery and charger), was awarded the Best Buy status in the “lawnmowers for a large lawn” category and was the only cordless mower to receive the title.
The review described the mower as “extremely convenient” and continued to praise it saying it is “a pleasure to use, easy to store, with loads of great features”; scoring it an impressive 74%.
EGO’s European marketing director, Steve Roskell, commented: “We are really proud to have received this recognition from Which? It is such a reputable and trusted organisation. The lawnmower is our best selling product globally so it is nice to see it receive such a great badge of honour.”
The LM2001E is the first lawnmower that EGO Power+ brought to market, having introduced it to the UK early in 2015. It is now complemented by an extended lawnmower range that includes three new options – including a self-propelled steel deck 50cm mower.
The Which? recognition is the latest accolade for the EGO range on a global scale. The lawnmower has proved incredibly popular globally, with particular success in Australia and the USA. In Australia, it was the best performer in a CHOICE review scoring 88% in a test of cordless and electric mowers. CHOICE is similar to Which? in that it is the largest source of unbiased expert reviews and is a very prestigious accolade. The EGO range was also recognised at the 2015 Australian Business Awards where it won two awards for Best New Product as well as Product Excellence.
The lawnmower, along with the rest of the EGO range, has proved to be very successful in the USA, having grown to be one of the top selling brands in the North American market in its first year. The range has won many awards with the lawnmower receiving Best Buy and Top Rated status from ConsumerReports, America’s equivalent to Which?. The strimmers, blower and chainsaw also scored highly and were recommended by ConsumerReports. At the Pro Tool Innovation Awards the mower, 38cm strimmer, blower and chainsaw were also award winners.
It’s not just the EGO Power+ core products that are receiving praise; its battery is also being recognised globally too. In New Zealand, the EGO battery, manufactured by Chervon, has received the “Innovation Award” from New Zealand’s number one home improvement retailer, Mitre 10 -beating four other leading brands which were shortlisted. The award was based upon recognition of innovation, growth in the market and strategic marketing.
