Alan Titchmarsh joined Linda Lane, managing director of Griffin Glasshouses, to present the company’s latest donation to the National Garden Scheme which brings the total to more that £45,000. George Plumptre, CEO of the NGS, was accompanied by Martin Macmillan OBE, chairman of the NGS, to receive the cheque.
The donation comes from the result of sales from Griffin Glasshouses NGS collection which sees five per cent of every sale being donated to the National Garden Scheme. After presenting the cheque, Alan also unveiled Griffin’s two newest glasshouses in the NGS range – the Lavender and the Tarragon.
Linda Lane, managing director of Griffin Glasshouses said: “The NGS do some absolutely fantastic work so we are delighted to be able to present them with this cheque and bring our total donated to over £45,000. We look forward to working with them in the future and continuing to donate, something we hope will be boosted by the launch of our two new Lavender and Tarragon glasshouses.”
George Plumptre, CEO of the National Garden Scheme tells us: “For the past five years, we have enjoyed a terrific partnership with Griffin Glasshouses, who have generously donated royalties in excess of £45,000 from the sales of their NGS glasshouses. I am confident that the new additions to the NGS range will be just as popular.”
Alan Titchmarsh concludes: “The fact that people can help nursing charities by opening their gardens, which combines the spiritual as well as the physical gardening therapies, is a great tribute.”
